Congratulations to all Graduates:

This is just the beginning of your life.
Life has so much more to offer you,
There are more plans to make,
More goals to attain,
More dreams to dream,
More dreams to see come true
As long as you know your purpose
and continue to endeavor to be true to
that purpose, life will always offer you more.
Life doesn't just have to happen.
You can make it happen.
...................................................................................

It is not by chance that this is your graduation day
God ordained this day long ago
When you were in the womb,
He knew what would be.
Even when you did not understand,
You were under his divine hand.
God's love for you goes beyond what you can see
Beyond what you can feel
When we make mistakes he love us still.
When our faith in him waivers and fails,
His love prevails.
God has just begun his work in you.
There is so much more he has for you to do.
What he has for you is yours to claim.
No one can take from you what he has ordained.
It is yours by divine providence.
Knowing this, without evidence,
You can stand
Trusting his plan,
With God's unwavering faith in you,
There is no limit to what you can do.

Honoring My Dad-

A Letter to My Father

I can’t believe I made it to this day again
Not having you here.
I keep hoping that when I close my eyes,
magically, you will appear
Daddy,
I’ve always known you were one in a million.
That special one,
The one that surpassed the rest.
The best of the best.
I feel like I never told you enough
Just how special you were to me.
Mother’s hear it constantly,
But Father’s sometimes don’t get to hear
The words I love you out loud.
I know those words would have made you proud.
I should have told you that, in my eyes,
You hung the moon and the stars,
That you were my superstar
My hero,
My champion
Of champions,
My father
Of father’s among men.
In your eyes this would have meant the world,
Because it was coming from your little girl.
No matter how old I was,
In your heart I held a special place.
It was always written all over your face
I wish I would have said the words I kept in my heart
And in my mind.
That the best father in the world was mine.
Day after day somehow has just slipped pass
Time moves so fast.
Daddy you have got to know
I miss you so.
On this side, I know I’ll never see you again,
But one day, when I leave this place,
I will see your face,
Tell you all the things you missed,
Plant your face with one big kiss
And say out loud this time
The best father in the world was mine.

Happy Father’s Day Daddy

I know you are listening to your favorite songs
and singing "Redeemed" like you used to do.
This is one you used to sing so, this one is for you.
Thank you for a lifetime of faithfulness

Honoring My Mother

When it comes to mother's, I was blessed to have had one of the best.  This will be my first Mother's Day not having her here to appreciate.  I have no regrets.  That is my message to those who have mother's that are still alive.  Appreciate them while they are still here.  I miss my mother with all my heart, but I can truthfully say, we made the best of our time together.  She was a very special lady.  Quiet spirited and full of unconditional love, not just for her family.  My parents were loved by many, because they shared their love with many.  Happy Mother's Day mom.

A LETTER TO MY MOTHER

Mother:

You are not just the woman who gave me life.
When I look at you, I see more than your outer beauty.
I see a woman who possesses a spirit of kindness and gentleness,
as well as great determination and inner strength.
In you, there is no pretense.
You love with simplicity and sincerity.
As long as I can remember,
you have been slow to anger and slow to wrath.
In your life, forgiveness has been a well-traveled path.
You could teach a lesson on tolerance and temperance.
You have always believed in giving others a second chance.
The Bible has always been your guide.
Cleanliness and Godliness,
Are two things in which you take pride.
Every choice you made for your family
was made with us in mind.
In that, there is no fault anyone can find.
When I think I have seen the best of you,
You surpass what you have already done.
You are the best mother, bar none.
You are a loving Mother and wife,
something you have proven by the way you live your life.
You have helped our family create memories that time can never erase.
For that, in our heart, you will always have a special place.
You have given each of us all that we needed to weave a tapestry of you.
In our eyes, that is more than any mother could do.
Mother, with all my heart, I love you.

Honoring Mothers-Happy Mother's Day

A Mother’s  Love Never Dies

A mother’s love never dies
Her children are her prize
From the moment she lays eyes on you
Her love is faithful and true
There is nothing you can do
To make her stop loving you.
Through your ups and downs
She is always around
To encourage and uplift
That is her special gift
Her love is without condition
She is always willing to hear your petitions
She loves without fear or restraint
Her love never falters or faints.
She pours her wisdom into her children
Creating a perfect tapestry
and a timeless legacy
For generations to come
Her work is never done
Through time and space
A mother’s love will never be erased
Her love goes on and on
Long after she is gone,
Long after your last cries
Long after your last goodbyes
A mother’s love never dies

A Mothers at Heart

Though motherhood was not your call
You have been a mother to us all

Some bonds are formed before birth
Others are formed here on earth
The word Mother does not determine how deep the bond will be
Motherhood is birthed from a love that is given tenderly.
It’s the devotion and the time spent through the years.
It comes with the sharing of both joys and tears.
That is what makes one a mother at heart.
You loved, you taught someone how to trust,
You more than supplied their needs.
In your lifetime you planted many seeds
Giving and loving right from the start.
That’s what makes you a mother at heart.

A salute to those who have mothered children of family and friends, nieces, nephews, cousins and
neighborhood kids, giving of their time, their love and their wisdom.  Your devotion has not gone
unnoticed.

When?

Man's biggest mistake
has been harboring hate.
Loving one another has been no easy task
So these questions I ask.
When will there be peace?
When will hatred cease?
When will we right our wrongs
and learn to get along?
How many must lose their life?
How many must pay the price?
When will prove that we can
take a stand?
When will be free
from hatred and bigotry?
When will we conquer the demons inside our head?
When will we end the bloodshed?
When will the healing begin?
The question is when?
How many must lose their life?
How many must pay the price
before we are willing to stand
hand and hand?
When will there be no weapons
of mass destruction to fear?
When will there be no more heartaches,
No more tears
No color bars
No more wars?
When will we be able
to look one another in the face
and feel no disgrace?
When will hatred cease?
When will there be peace?
When will the healing begin?
The question is when?

Special Post to Family of those Who Died in Boston

Goodbye by Lionel Ritchie

When we all agree that peace
is the only course we will take
We will put an end to hate.

P. Harris

...................................................
I Won't Cry

I won't cry
No, I won't cry
All my heartaches and pain
Days of falling rain
Will be no more
when I reach the distant shore.
Troubled days, I have seen the last.
Heartaches are a thing of the past
No doubts no fears
No more falling tears
I won't cry
No, I won't cry.
My presence will be missed
But remember this
I won't cry any more.
I won't cry any more.
All my heartaches are past
Troubled days I've seen the last.
I won't cry
Said I won't cry
I finally reached the distant shore
and I won't have to cry any more
I'm in a place where there is sweet peace.
All hatred has finally ceased.
Don't worry, don't cry
I've got my wings to fly.
I won't cry
I won't cry.
I've reached that distant shore
and I won't have to cry any more

One Heart, One Mind

When I think of the years
The unnecessary tears
The agony, the shame
The anger and the pain
that comes from being hurt again
and again
I wonder will ever live together peacefully?
Must we always war needlessly?
It doesn't matter who we are
or where we are from
life is the same for everyone
If we open our hearts,
we will find,
We have one heart and one mind.
When time is no more,
our differences won't matter anymore.
Regardless of what language we speak,
there is a commonality in what we seek.
No matter where we live, our goals and our aims
Are the same.
Everybody cries
When someone they love dies.
There is no difference in our tears.
We share the same fears.
We have different faces and different names,
but inside, we are the same.
It's time we realize,
we have common ties.
When we get down to the heart of the matter.
that is all that matters;
Not the color of our skin,
Not where we have been,
Ot whether we are a King or a Queen
Or where we have been in the world.
One day, we must leave this world.
If we continue to hate,
This will be our shared fate,
Wars on every hand
and the deterioration of man.
We brag about how far we have come,
but if we never learn to live as one,
our accomplishments will be as dung.
They will be of no significance to anyone.
We must live as a people, undefined by station or place,
Inseparable by color or race.
We can' t rewrite history,
but we can change what is to be.
When we realize that we are not just kindred spirits,
But a perfect fit
On the tapestry of mankind.
With one heart and one mind,
Peace will finally be ours to find.
