When?

Man's biggest mistake
has been harboring hate.
Loving one another has been no easy task
So these questions I ask.
When will there be peace?
When will hatred cease?
When will we right our wrongs
and learn to get along?
How many must lose their life?
How many must pay the price?
When will prove that we can
take a stand?
When will be free
from hatred and bigotry?
When will we conquer the demons inside our head?
When will we end the bloodshed?
When will the healing begin?
The question is when?
How many must lose their life?
How many must pay the price
before we are willing to stand
hand and hand?
When will there be no weapons
of mass destruction to fear?
When will there be no more heartaches,
No more tears
No color bars
No more wars?
When will we be able
to look one another in the face
and feel no disgrace?
When will hatred cease?
When will there be peace?
When will the healing begin?
The question is when?

Special Post to Family of those Who Died in Boston

Goodbye by Lionel Ritchie

When we all agree that peace
is the only course we will take
We will put an end to hate.

P. Harris

...................................................
I Won't Cry

I won't cry
No, I won't cry
All my heartaches and pain
Days of falling rain
Will be no more
when I reach the distant shore.
Troubled days, I have seen the last.
Heartaches are a thing of the past
No doubts no fears
No more falling tears
I won't cry
No, I won't cry.
My presence will be missed
But remember this
I won't cry any more.
I won't cry any more.
All my heartaches are past
Troubled days I've seen the last.
I won't cry
Said I won't cry
I finally reached the distant shore
and I won't have to cry any more
I'm in a place where there is sweet peace.
All hatred has finally ceased.
Don't worry, don't cry
I've got my wings to fly.
I won't cry
I won't cry.
I've reached that distant shore
and I won't have to cry any more

One Heart, One Mind

When I think of the years
The unnecessary tears
The agony, the shame
The anger and the pain
that comes from being hurt again
and again
I wonder will ever live together peacefully?
Must we always war needlessly?
It doesn't matter who we are
or where we are from
life is the same for everyone
If we open our hearts,
we will find,
We have one heart and one mind.
When time is no more,
our differences won't matter anymore.
Regardless of what language we speak,
there is a commonality in what we seek.
No matter where we live, our goals and our aims
Are the same.
Everybody cries
When someone they love dies.
There is no difference in our tears.
We share the same fears.
We have different faces and different names,
but inside, we are the same.
It's time we realize,
we have common ties.
When we get down to the heart of the matter.
that is all that matters;
Not the color of our skin,
Not where we have been,
Ot whether we are a King or a Queen
Or where we have been in the world.
One day, we must leave this world.
If we continue to hate,
This will be our shared fate,
Wars on every hand
and the deterioration of man.
We brag about how far we have come,
but if we never learn to live as one,
our accomplishments will be as dung.
They will be of no significance to anyone.
We must live as a people, undefined by station or place,
Inseparable by color or race.
We can' t rewrite history,
but we can change what is to be.
When we realize that we are not just kindred spirits,
But a perfect fit
On the tapestry of mankind.
With one heart and one mind,
Peace will finally be ours to find.

Celebrating National Poetry Month

Once again, this month, we are celebrating National Poetry month.  It is a good time to develop a joy for reading poetry. There are many poetry sites on the internet.  Take a few moments and browse a few of those  sites.  Enjoy!

He Knows What Will Be

God knows everything about you.
Everything you will do
Your successes, your failures,
Everything you will endure.
He knows every tear you will cry.
He knows the reason why.
God has a place in this world
For every little boy and girl
He's given you a dream that only you can see.
He already knows what will be.
He's aware there will be road blocks
Designed to keep you from reaching the top
He knows people will try to convince you
That you cannot do what you want to do,
But you can make your dreams come true.
You will fulfill your purpose in the end.
You might not know how or when
Just know that the day will come
When his will shall be done.
He's already done everything he could
To work things out for your good.
He has instilled in you the passion and the fire
To do those things you desire.
God has already designed a place for you.
Has he not said and shall he not do
All that he said he will do?
You've got to believe.
Believe
That you can fulfill every purpose
And every desire he's designed for you.
He can make your dreams come true.
All you have to do is run fast, run free,
Rain straight into your destiny.

Love's Sunlit Street

Who knows why some things are or aren't to be.
No one can second-guess destiny.
Some are destined to meet
While others will never walk love's sunlit street.
Their fate is but to pass like ships in the night
Never sharing the beauty of morning's light
Ours is not to wonder why,
But, to give love our best try.
For to love at all is more than one can ask
Of a life that one moment is and soon will past.
Every day love is ours to hold
Tis a treasure more precious than gold.
True love is not always kind
Such a treasure few will find
Should fate allow you to catch love's falling star,
Consider how blessed you are.
For love will be ours to keep
When alas you stroll down love's sunlit street.

Live for Today

Say goodbye to yesterday
Don't let your past get in the way
Cast regrets aside
Live today with pride.
Give no thought for tomorrow
A new day of troubles you will borrow.
That you will see tomorrow is no guarantee
Why worry about something that may never be?
Say good-bye to yesterday
Magically, your cares will slip away.
Live for today
Trust God to make a way.
He who can account for every tiny grain of sand,
Will he not hold tomorrow in his hands?
He already knows what is around life's bend.
He will help you find your rainbow's end.
